Necessities

Necessities

  • The secondary battery industry is continuously growing due to the diversification of battery usage.
Transition to a dry process is taking place to overcome environmental and efficiency issues in the existing wet process.
  • The PVDF binder is used in the existing wet process with NMP. NMP causes environmental pollution and high costs in solution-dry process.
  • In addition, PVDF has low flexibility and is unstable in high-temperature environments, so PVDF is unsuitable for high-performance batteries.
  • Due to strict global environmental regulations, the use of NMP is restricted. The development of dry electrode process is necessary.
  • LFP AM&C’s PTFE-CNT composite for dry electrode process is superior to existing materials (PTFE-CB, etc.).

Advantages of Dry Electrode Process

Advantages of Dry Electrode Process

  • Excellent electrical properties
  • Excellent thermal stability
  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Increased energy density
  • Increased battery life
  • Economical : Reduces energy usage during the process
  • Eco-friendly : No hazardous NMP solvents required
